"This happened in the area where I go to school about two years ago. I frequent a used book store that has a small cafe and reading area. I took a break from going there for a few months and while I was away a girl was murdered who I often saw at the store. She didn't have a car and didn't live that far from the used book store. I'd given her rides before after we'd been introduced and thought she was a nice, but quiet, girl. While I wasn't there, she'd befriended a woman who was new in town and just a little bit older than us. To the owner, she seemed nice and put together. One day, she offered the girl a ride home and she accepted. Apparently, the woman staked out her house and became quite stalker-ish toward her. The owner noticed this, but thought she was overreacting. One night after giving the girl a ride home, the woman waited until she was asleep, snuck into her apartment and stabbed her to death. Then, the woman burned down the house and tried to escape. The area here is very small and everyone watches out for everyone else. A neighbor had seen the strange woman go into the apartment and called the police. They arrested the woman and found out that she was an escaped convict who had been sent to an asylum a couple of years before!"- Taylor, IL
"A woman came home from shopping to find her Doberman choking on something. She quickly put him in the car and drove him to the vet. The vet told her to go on home while he operated to remove whatever was lodged in the dog's windpipe, and he'd call her when she could pick up her pet. She wasn't home for long when the vet called and told her in an excited voice to get out of the house right now, he'd be by to explain in a few minutes. From her neighbor's window she saw the vet arrive with the police and ran out to see if her dog was all right and what was going on. As the police ran into her house the vet told her what her loving pet had choked on… two human fingers. The police found the escaped criminal hiding in the closet nursing his mangled hand." - Chloe, CA
"A friend of mine was house-sitting up by lake Tahoe. He invited me up to the house to party, but I couldn't go. He was pissed because he was all alone in the house. I thought nothing of it until I got a call from him two hours later. He was in a panic, but speaking softly. I asked him to calm down and tell me what was wrong. He said he was hiding in the closet because a man had broken into the house, and was downstairs cooking in the kitchen. I asked him why he hadn't called the cops, and he replied 'because the guy is a cop.' Turns out the guy was a escaped murderer who had killed a cop and taken his identity." - John, CA
